Filter Assembly Leak Test under Pressure and Vacuum

This machine leak tests two complete filter assemblies simultaneously.

The first station automatically pressurises the part to the required proof test pressure with a gas containing a trace amount of hydrogen. After an accumulation period the leak rate is measured and compared with pre set limits.

The second station seals an outer chamber around the filter assembly and pulls a vacuum on both the part and the chamber. Helium is then admitted into the outer chamber and the leak rate measured by detecting the flow of helium into the component.
Sensors ensure that the correct combination of parts are assembled and that all the previous assembly and test routines have been completed successfully.

Assemblies which pass the test are automatically engraved with the correct part number, time and date before the guard opens and the part is released.
