This cell assembles automotive arm rests. The main location fixture firmly compresses and clamps the component parts, allowing the operator to stretch the cover material into position. An outer moulding is then attached with four screws to hold the assembly together. The screws are fitted using a DC torque and angle screw driver. The assembly is then tested automatically. The release catch is tested to ensure it operates correctly and has the correct springs fitted. The hinge is rotated and the friction measured to ensure the hold up force lies within a specified tolerance.
Correct assemblies are released automatically and a bar code label printed. This provides traceability including - component number, time, date, and operator ID. Click on thumbnail to view a larger image.Gallery |
