Large diameter holes are punched in sheet steel baffle plates by a hydraulically operated press tool.

Interchangeable tooling allows a variety of hole sizes to be punched.

This tooling includes a lower ram which can also flare each hole as preparation for subsequent welding.

A 2 Axis servo positioning system automatically re positions each part inside the press tool for punching and forming of up to five holes in each baffle.

Different parts can be punched by simple selection of the required part number.
